The Plants
We work with plants that grow quietly around us.
Plantain
Long-valued, plantain is known for its soothing nature and ability to support the skin barrier.
Nettle
An often-overlooked plant, nettle is rich in naturally occurring minerals and antioxidants.
Chickweed
Traditionally used to calm and comfort the skin, chickweed is valued for its gentle nature and affinity with irritation-prone skin.
Why We Made It
Rescue Balm was the first balm I ever made.
It began with my children. We spend a lot of time outdoors, walking through woods, exploring and getting into all sorts of little adventures. There were nettle stings, grazed knees, dry itchy skin and moments when someone needed a little comfort.
I wanted something simple that I could carry with us.
I began looking more closely at the plants growing around us. The ones along footpaths, in gardens and at the edges of the woods. Plants we so often walk past without giving them a second thought.
And so I made my first balm. I called it Plantain Balm.
At first, it was just for us. Then I started gifting little pots to friends, and before long they were carrying them around too.
Over time, Plantain Balm became Day Balm. But the children still reached for it whenever they needed a little care.
Eventually, I realised what it had always been.
Rescue Balm.
What began as a little pot for my family had quietly found its way into other people's pockets, bags and homes.
A little care, when it's needed most.
The story didn't end when we made Asa. It continued in the homes of the people who use it.

Massage gently into dry, rough or uncomfortable skin.
Use whenever your skin needs a little extra care, whether at home or out exploring.
To keep your balm at its best, store it in a cool, dry place and avoid getting water inside. Always use clean, dry fingers or a spatula.
For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
